The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned residents near Mt. Pinatubo to be alert which has recorded 826 imperceptible earthquakes east-northeast of Pinatubo Volcano in the vicinities of the City of Mabalacat, Pampanga.
The strongest of these earthquakes occurred on 25 January, There were also 9 quakes below magnitude 2.0 which people don't normally feel. Based on the general distribution of located events, these earthquakes were generated along a segment of the Sacobia Lineament.
Geographically, mt. Pinatubo, a dormant volcano for almost 600 years which erupted in 1991 is located between the provinces of Pampanga, Zambales and Tarlac but the gateway frontier is in Capas.
Alert level 0 status is still in "quiescent condition" the volcano.
